What is HIV Confident?

HIV Confident is the UK’s largest programme addressing HIV-related stigma within organisations. We currently support over 130 organisations to strengthen knowlegde, attitudes and confidence around HIV, building inclusive, respectful and welcoming workplaces and services. Through staff surveys, eLearning modules, support to review policies and implementation of robust and accessible stigma reporting pathways, our organisations are showing their commitment to people living with HIV and tackling of social inequalities more broadly.

Supporting over 130 organisations

Over 13,000 people across healthcare, local authorities, corporate and third sector have accessed our resources, with this number growing every day. Thanks to our training modules, thousands of people have learned for the first time that HIV cannot be passed on through sex if someone is on effective treatment with an undetectable viral load (known as Undetectable = Untransmissibile, or U=U). Many of our organisations have introduced HIV-specific policies with our support, and 96% of those who provided feedback on our eLearning would recomment it to a colleague.
